It Started with a Dog (Lucky Dog, #2) GoodreadsįTC Disclosure: I received a complimentary copy of this book from Netgalley. There’s a little something for the dog lovers, something for those who enjoy a good spooky season read, and last but not least, for those who enjoy a romance that also feeds their need to travel to faraway places. Big words, small steps.Īnyhoo, regardless of your country, origin, faith, culture, or circumstances, I wish you all a happy Diwali filled with memories of togetherness and love.Hello everyone! I’m back today with some October releases you’re going to want on your radar if you’re in the mood for romance. Yet another reason to fight my inner “demons” and pursue that sense of righteousness that lies within me. Honestly, to me, this festival has always been a welcoming reset after a long difficult year. Nothing fancy just a simple way of celebrating the holidays.

We make sweets, decorate the house, light up diyas (clay-based oil lamps), click some pictures and sit around and enjoy each other’s company. For the last many years, my favorite part of Diwali is being together as a family. Although few traditions changed over the years, it has always been a Ghar wali Diwali for me. Ever since I moved to Mumbai, there hasn’t been a single year when I didn’t come home for Diwali. These memories always flood me with nostalgia. Now, I don’t find them pretty or fun, just loud and unnecessary. I guess that was the first time when I realized how bad are the cons of burning crackers. When I was 10, a friend of mine got hurt. I was little so, I never thought about the consequences of it.

It was so exciting to watch the dazzling lights shoot up the dark sky. But more than sweets, I was a big fan of fireworks. Mom made a lot of homemade sweets, and we used to get all these big hampers with dry fruits and sweets from dad’s office. It was all a longstanding tradition in the house. Dad used to go to the flower shop early in the morning, and we used to spend the afternoon making garlands to decorate the house. We used to get up early in the morning without complaints and despite the chill in the air. Well, as Diwali is on its way now, I remember how my parents have always celebrated Diwali over-the-top way for all these years.
